Highmount – The soaring vocals of Grammy-winning artist Patti Austin on Saturday, Aug. 7 and the organic rhythms of the John Scofield/John Lovano Quartet on Friday, Aug. 6 will close the Catskill Mountain Jazz Series at the Belleayre Music Festival. The shows begin at 8 p.m.

Highmount – The renowned Catskill Mountain Jazz Series at the Belleayre Music Festival opens with two diverse acts — the Javon Jackson Quartet, featuring drumming legend Jimmy Cobb, on Friday, July 30 and violin virtuoso Regina Carter on Saturday, July 31.

Highmount — Southern rock icon and legendary fiddler Charlie Daniels brings his blistering live show to the Belleayre Music Festival stage on Saturday, July 24 at 8 p.m. for an evening of flat-out fun and old-fashioned rock jamming.Charlie Daniels

Hard-charging anthems like “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “The South’s Gonna Do It” are among the signature tunes that propelled the Grammy-winning band to international success and more than 20 million albums sold in a career that spans half-a-century. Those hits and many more will be rolled at Belleayre in an evening filled with fast-paced fiddling and sizzling guitar.

Highmount — Love will be in the air as Maestro John Covelli leads the Belleayre Festival Orchestra in an enchanted evening of romantic classics on Saturday, July 17 at 8 p.m.

Maestro Covelli will conduct the orchestra and will also perform as a soloist on Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto #1. Asher Raboy will serve as guest conductor.

Highmount — Hip singer-songwriters Joseph Arthur and Meghan Wolf will offer tantalizing blend of innovative tunes at the Belleayre Music Festival on Friday, July 16 at 8 p.m.

Joseph Arthur’s “one-man band” show draws rave reviews wherever he plays. Utilizing looping techniques and an array of effects pedals, he creates a full instrumental accompaniment for penetrating songs.

Highmount - Patti LuPone, one of the brightest stars in Broadway history, will display her soaring vocal talents in the intimate setting of the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, July 10 at 8 p.m.
Patti made a triumphant solo concert debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall in “Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda,” resulting in a sold-out encore performance and she will perform this show at Belleayre.

Highmount – The Belleayre Music Festival will color Independence Weekend “Red, White and Bluegrass” when Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder showcase their amazing repertoire on Saturday, July 3 at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks. Fourteen-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Skaggs returns to Belleayre in what promises to be a rousing holiday weekend showcase.

Recent news that Mount Snow Ski Center in Vermont is getting $25 million in federal stimulus funds has opened old wounds for the Coalition to Save Belleayre. It was the winter of 2009 when the coalition wanted federal economic stimulus funds to be used at the state-owned Belleayre Mountain Ski Center.

Highmount — The Belleayre Music Festival is kicking off its 19th summer season with a BBQ Dinner Dance and Benefit Auction, featuring the music of Special Delivery, on Sunday, May 30. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with the silent auction viewing and a cocktail reception, wine and refreshments provided by the Board of Directors of the Belleayre Conservatory.

Highmount — The Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center Auxiliary has announced the date of its annual spring dance. The Spring Fling, formerly known as the Dance-a-Thon, will be held Saturday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at Belleayre Mountain’s Overlook Lodge.
