Benefit concert at Belleayre

Highmount — The Belleayre Music Festival is turning its final show of the season into a benefit for victims of Sunday’s record-breaking flood.

Béla Fleck and the Flecktones – Original Lineup, will play at Belleayre on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. The board of directors of the Belleayre Conservatory, which operates the festival, has decided that net proceeds from the season’s final show will be donated to assist the flood-relief effort.
Chairman of the Board Joe Kelly said that making the concert into a benefit for flood victims was a natural decision for the conservatory.

Punch Brothers and Jennifer Lea Mayfield play Belleayre

Highmount — Punch Brothers and Jessica Lea Mayfield will offer a hip musical montage of bluegrass, country noir and rock at Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m.

Mary Chapin-Carpenter plays Belleayre

Highmount — Five-time Grammy winner Mary Chapin Carpenter will showcase two decades worth of hits at the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 8 p.m.

Mary deft combination of country, pop and rock tunes makes conventional boundaries disappear. The universal appeal of her music has earned Mary 15 Grammy nominations.

Clint Black at Belleayre on Saturday

Highmount — Clint Black, an artist who shot to international stardom with his debut release, brings his hit-filled show to the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 8 p.m.

Clint has long been heralded as one of country music’s brightest stars. He has transcended categorization to become one of the most successful artists in the music world.
Clint has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, starting with his 1989 smash debut, the critically acclaimed, triple-platinum selling “Killin’ Time.” CMT lists this album as one of the 100 Greatest Albums in Country Music.

Miles Davis Tribute, Ravi Coltrane at Belleayre’s Jazz Series Weekend

Highmount — ­ Drummer Jimmy Cobb, who played on the original Miles Davis release “Kind of Blue,” leads his So What Band in a dynamic interpretation of this landmark record on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. at the Belleayre Music Festival.

The final weekend of Belleayre’s Catskill Mountain Jazz Series gets underway on Friday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. when the Ravi Coltrane Quartet turns up the heat in the Belleayre Jazz Club. 

Urban folk, 'Other-Wordly' tunes at Belleayre Jazz Festival

Highmount — KJ Denhert brings her unique “urban folk and jazz” to the Belleayre Music Festival on Friday, July 29 and Global Noize follows on Saturday, July 30 with a mesmerizing blend of jazz, world music and electronica. Shows start at 8 p.m.

The double-header weekend marks the opening of Belleayre’s Catskill Mountain Jazz Series. Held in the intimate setting of the Belleayre Jazz Club in the Overlook Lodge, the shows offer genre-breaking music that is both complex and accessible. General admission tickets are $26 for each show.

Opera classic at Belleayre this weekend

Highmount — ­Verdi¹s tragic masterpiece “La Traviata,” springs to life at the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, July 23 at 8 p.m.

A company of 50, including opera singers from New York City and the Metropolitan Opera, accompanied by chamber musicians and a large chorale group, will perform this fully-staged production of Verdi’s tale of love, self-sacrifice and redemption.

Creedence Clearwater Revisited brings hits to Belleayre

Highmount — ­ The “soundtrack of a generation” will spring to life when Creedence Clearwater Revisited plays the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m.

Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo,” Clifford the original rhythm section of Creedence Clearwater Revival, will crank up classics like “Proud Mary,” “Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “Fortunate Son,” “Who¹ll Stop the Rain” and a string of other hits that helped define an era.

Tommy Tune steps out for Broadway benefit

Highmount – Legendary song and dance man Tommy Tune will cap off a Broadway Benefit Weekend at the Belleayre Music Festival on Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.

Tommy will bring his “Steps in Time: A Broadway Biography in Song and Dance” show to the mountain. His performance will be backed by the powerful sounds of the Manhattan Rhythm Kings.
