Fleischmanns residents win big in Lottery game for second time

For the second time in a little more than two years, a Fleischmanns family has struck it rich playing the New York State Lottery. Philip and Tracy Auchmoody took home a $45,000 prize in the Dec. 27 Win Four drawing. It was a great feeling for the couple, but the prize was dwarfed by the $1 million winning ticket that the Auchmoodys held in the Lottery’s Extravaganza game in November 2007.


Fleischmanns Board appeals theater foreclosure ruling

The Fleischmanns Village Board has filed an appeal of last month’s court ruling which said that the owner of the Main Street Fleischmanns Theater building, or the bank that holds the mortgage on the building, has a right to pay past due village taxes and maintain ownership of the property.
At a village board meeting Monday evening, Fleischmanns Mayor Dave Morell said, “We have filed an appeal.”

Benefit concert Jan. 10 for African service trip

There will be a benefit concert on January 10 to raise funds for area youth and adults who will be traveling to West Africa in July to help some of the neediest children of Ghana. The concert will be at p.m. in the home of Justin and Barbara Mellon Kolb outside of Fleischmanns and will feature performances by Justin Kolb, Patricia Dell and Kent Brown.


Judge stalls foreclosure on Fleischmanns Theater

An attempt by the Village of Fleischmanns to foreclose on the long-vacant Fleischmanns Theater building for non-payment of village taxes has been blocked by Delaware County Judge Carl Becker.
The judge determined last week that the owner of the property, or the local bank that holds a mortgage on the property, has a right to pay the delinquent taxes and maintain ownership.


Fleischmanns gallery facelift complete

Fleischmanns — Aided by the warm fall weather, John and Gloria Mulloy, owners of property located at 1033 Main Street in Fleischmanns, which houses Art Et Cetera, Zoom Gallery and two apartments, completed their building makeover in record time.  Purchased in the spring, renovations were completed in under six months.

Catskill residents experienced the first snowfall of the season Saturday evening coinciding with the inaugural “Top Chef” event to benefit the MARK Project with a contribution made to Community Christmas projects. For those hearty souls who braved the inclement weather and treacherous driving conditions, they were rewarded with a night to remember.

Fleischmanns Comprehensive Plan is focus of Oct. 22 meeting

Fleischmanns — The Village of Fleischmanns Comprehensive Plan Committee is seeking public input on Fleischmanns’ draft Comprehensive Plan. The public hearing on Oct. 22 will include a brief presentation on what a Comprehensive Plan is and highlight some of the key recommendations contained within the draft Comprehensive Plan.
