Arkville — “The Old Bat Factory,” an Arkville property that served for many years as a preparation facility for Louisville Slugger baseball bats, will be put up for public auction on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.

A four-year-old Arkville girl has been selected to perform in a key scene of the vampire movie “Stake Land” that is being filmed locally. Angelique Biasutto, a student at the Arkville Head Start program, was selected for the role after a chance meeting with movie personnel.

Arkville — The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development will present local songwriter James Krueger with Amy Soucy in a special matinee performance at the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development in Arkville on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.

Reston, Va. — The Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play has announced that Delaware Opportunities Inc. is one of 351 recipients of a $5,000 grant to improve the outdoor play space at the Arkville Head Start Center.

Arkville — The Central Catskills Collaborative invites the public to participate in crafting a preliminary vision and goals statement, the next step in the development of the Corridor Management Plan.
The vision statement will guide the Scenic Byway nomination over the course of the project.

Arkville — Once again the Catskill Park will be a flurry of activity as two local organizations sponsor the 2009 Lark in the Park celebration, to be held October 3-12. 
This is the sixth annual Lark since the event was conceived in 2004 as a commemoration of the centennial of the Catskill Park.

Arkville — The public is invited to a lecture by Jody Primoff entitled “Jody Primoff, John Burroughs and Woodchuck Lodge” at the Catskill Center Erpf Gallery on Main Street Arkville, September 26 at 2 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Blues Maneuver will take to the rails on the historic D&URR from 6 to 8:30  p.m. for a slow-moving scenic train ride that everyone will enjoy.
