Summer Flowering Trees
We are very lucky to enjoy such a great assortment of spring flowering trees ranging from the early blooming Shadblow and Cherries (Amelanchier sp. and Prunus sp.) to mid-spring redbud and Bradford Pear (Cercis sp and Pyrus sp.) to the multitude of crabapples (Malus sp) and finally the dogwoods (Cornus). The only problem is that by the first week of June the party is just about over!

Waking Up Your Yard and Garden
It is still cold and wet as I write this on Saturday, April 23, and last Thursday there were snow flurries most of the day. I hope we don’t go directly from winter to summer this year since spring is so beautiful here in the Catskill Mountain Region and I always wish it would linger a bit longer.

The late spring is allowing many of us procrastinators’ time to finish up some chores though.
